Theory of the Mind
The mind is a store of images and ideas, similar to a complex of store rooms, placed each one behind the other, in a perspective, up to the infinite, and with a long access corridor, such as it is illustrated below: All images enter the mind through the Reception and Remembrance Hall, whose income windows are the senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell and Touch. The ideas or images initially enter through the Reception and Reminder Hall, into the first store, and are possess a leak character. They get in instantly, but they leak easily. For example: A person is counting from one through one thousand; some one interrupts his counting when he goes by twenty-five; the number twenty-five enters the first store; after having finished the counting, he may have forgotten almost for ever what number it was when he was interrupted. If the same idea is repeated once or more times, it is forced to move into intermediate stores, which posses the most endurance to store ideas that are easily remembered. When an idea enters through a strong emotional impact, it enters at once into the inner stores. Inner stores are the safest for an easy calling out and remembrance of ideas, but they are subject to two phenomena: a) Every time an idea is called out, it comes out into the Reception and Remembrance Hall and, then, it returns into closer stores to those in which it was before being invoked, and it is left in a situation which is easier to invoke, but it never returns into the first store, which is that of leaking ideas. b) When some time passes with invoking an idea, there increases the tendency por such idea to be fleeing into inner stores, and it becomes more difficult to invoke, to the extreme that it may, after some time, enter the forgetful stores, making difficult to invoke, and even refuge into the sub conscience, or stores to the infinite, from which few times will come out to be evoked. In the case of an insane person, besides having serious difficulties to enter ideas into the inner stores, these have a stronger tendency to go into the forgetting area and sub conscience. For this reason, their group of useful ideas is relatively small. In order to help the situation of the insane, or people with a sort of mental retardation, you may feed their brain system, which will improve their capacity for reception and storing ideas, at the same time than training them on a persistent way. This will provide good results, although not into perfection. Generally, cases of insanity are caused by inheritance deficiencies, malformations and inadequate use of drugs. Now, in the case of a mad person, or people with mental disorder, they have a good and abundant income of ideas into their stores, but the same are disorderly, distorted and contaminated between them. It is little what we can do to help them, although science has developed several delicate drugs to control and order their ideas. Such drugs should be administrated strictly by a capable and specialized professional. Anyhow, a peaceful and comprehensive treatment towards them, will keep their minds in a better control, without violent reactions. Many mad actions are caused by some complexes, which have not been treated adequately and for inadequate use of pharmacy drugs. In the case of a Christian, it is better to take advantage of God’s power, for whom every thing is possible, according to His will. Psychotherapy In cases of pathology, especially with psychological problems, you can press into the sub conscience the pernicious ideas, through fill up the intermediate stores with positive ideas, opposite to those which are harmful. This process is a genuine “brain wash”, for it cleanses the brain from pernicious ideas and images, and fills it with positive ideas. It is exactly opposed to Freud’s Psychoanalysis, by which he extracts from the mind pernicious ideas in order to identify them; but, once they are on the conscientious area, they may produce harm again. To this situation, they recur to the administration of drugs, which may produce irreparable harm to the general health. What others denominate “wash brain”, is rather a “brain contamination”. To the psychotherapy we are presenting here, we call in English a “Drill Technique”, and in Spanish a “Hammering Technique”, and it own by the author of this Theory of the Mind. You may execute it by preparing a text adequate to the specific problem of the patient, using a psychological redaction, on which the patient talks to himself with the positive ideas we want to introduce into his mind. How ever, the most effective way is to record the psychotherapeutic text on a cassette or CD, and the patient has to listen and repeat at the same time all nights, in the very moment when the patient has gone to bed for sleeping. After having heard and repeated the text, the mind, first in a conscious manner and, then, in a sub conscientious way, will spend most of the night repeating such words. This constant “drilling” or “hammering” will make the “miracle” of disappearing the particular psychological or spiritual problems. This treatment is prescribed at first for doing it all nights, during three consecutive months. Once they are finished, the psychologist makes an evaluation of the patient, and determines whether it need to be executed for three month more, or if it is prescribed permanently, in cases of extreme pathology. If the patient has reacted normally, after treatment, he may suspend it, and it is left to his discretion to apply it again. The recorded material needs to contain a soft music, combined to the corresponding psychotherapeutic text. It may be utilized not only for psychopathological cases, but also to help the spiritual growth and consolidation. It is also helpful for transforming a bad student into a good one, who obtains the highest notes in school. This psychotherapy can be used for many situation of a genuine “brain wash”. Its results are very effective, and it has been submitted already into an experimentation at the “Saint Charles State University in Guatemala, with surprising results. At a very low price, you can get three cassettes containing these psychotherapies in Spanish, at the see of this Editorial House, Quaker Theological Seminary, 4ª Ave. 2-24, zone 1, Chiquimula, Guatemala, C. A.: a) Ps-1, Ayuda Psicológica [Psychological Help], for common personality problems, relaxing, learning how to sleep, etc.; b) PsE-1, Ayuda Educativa [Educational Help], for becoming excellent an student and getting very high grades; c) PsB-1, Ayuda Espiritual [Spiritual Help], for spiritual problems and spiritual growth. THE PSYCHOLOGICAL GAMES The Psychological Games, created by this same author of the Theory of the Mind, are some psychological procedures for detecting identifying a thief, among a group such as in a school, job or any other. The procedure starts by getting together the group where is suspected to be the person who has stolen the specific object or money and, then, you call the roll to be sure that every body is there from the group. Then, you prepare the psychological atmosphere, through a suggestive talk about the effectiveness of these games. You can mention some of the games you have done previously, emphasizing the sure detection. You may also mention them what was the stolen object going to be used for, or any similar things. Then, you are ready to through out the first game, which is the softest one. Face Game: You announce the group that you are going to observe their faces, and you start doing it intensely, rotating you sight steadily and with seriousness, and looking at the faces of the group. The almost immediate reaction is that, you see in the person who has stolen the object, several facial changes, like changing skin color or facial movements of tension. The thief makes efforts to dissimulate his reactions, but his “psyches” betrays him and causes him to show more evidences, which are easy to recognize. Of course, there will be more than one person who will sow some evidences, because there are accomplices also, or persons who saw the action, and they also react; but the thief’s reactions are not easy to miss, because they are strong and notable. The analyst must not distract himself with the secondary reactions of others. He must be writing the reactions by using codes and symbols, but without showing any signs that he is identifying anyone. He must simulate to be writing symbols all the time and everywhere. After you are finished with the first game, do not mention any premature comments, even if you have identified the thief already, but go right away on to the second game, which is much stronger. Eyes Game: Now, announce them the beginning of the second game, and tell them that you are going to see their eyes now. The analyst will start by looking at their eyes in and intense and careful way, looking around al members of the group and, at the same time, he has to tell them suggestive words accordingly. The reaction of the thief will be a enormous uneasiness on the eyes and sight, at the same time of an increase of eye winking. This second game serves for confirming the discoveries of the first game. How ever, you must anyhow through out the third game, which is so strong that very rarely somebody will resist without falling into it. Lips Game: Immediately after, you start the third game, telling them that you are going to observe their lips. You start to intensely see everybody’s lips, rotating your sight constantly, and start psychological suggestive wording. The immediate reaction will be intense and uncontrolled movements of the lips, which will show the thief without possibilities of error. What happens really is that, as the thief is conscious of his deed, he makes desperate efforts to hide his reactions, but his own psyches will betray him and provoke an inverse reaction, contrary to what he wants to do. It is like an inverse projection. In this manner, the thief has been fully identified, and you call the roll again to make sure that you have written down your observations to the correct person, without mixing it with any other. Of course, once you have identified the thief, you should not denounce him, because he could accuse the analyst back of calumny before a jury, and the psychological evidences you have on hand are very difficult to juridical prove. So, you announce them that you have written down the name of the thief, and will denounce him before the corresponding authorities, but, in order no to cause him any trouble, you will give him an opportunity of fixing the case on a friendly manner. First of all, offer him secretiveness and absolute confidence on our part, if the identified person will confess his doing or, also in a secret way, he returns back the object he stole. In such case, we cancel the problem in a secret manner. However, the most convenient way, through confession, because this allows the thief to discharge the sense of guilt, and we can help him through a psychotherapy. If he just gives back what he had stolen, we have solved the problem, of theft, but the thief will suffer his guilt. For that reason, the first is the best option, because it solves the problem, and helps to reorient the doer. In the case of confession by the author, we follow two procedures: a) Dialogue with him the way of returning the stolen object or money. If he doesn’t have it anymore on hand, or only has a part of what was stolen, then we can help him to earn some money for paying what was stolen. b) We reorient the doer through a psychotherapeutic process, such as we present below: Psychotherapy The function of an educator will be short, if he just discovers and condemn the thief. It is necessary to apply a psychotherapy in order to heal on him the habit of stilling, or kleptomania. For doing this, after discovering the thief, don not denounce him, but give him an opportunity to discharge his guilt, through a private confession. Tell the students that, in order to help the moral recovery of the thief, you will give him the opportunity for him to come in a secret manner to the analyst professor to confess his guilt. If he does it this in manner, we offer him full secretiveness, confidentiality and pardon. But, you also tell them that, if he does not take advantage of this opportunity, after a short and still deadline, the analyst will be free from the secretiveness, confidentiality and pardon covenant which was offered, and he will be subject to the corresponding punishment. Once the thief has made his private confession before the analyst professor, and he is in a process of giving back what he stole, we need to apply him a series of constant counseling sessions, in order to recover his moral and spiritual integrity. The most probable result in this case, is that the thief will become a grateful friend to the psychotherapist professor who discovered his situation and helped him to be reoriented.
